After receiving an article, editor screens submission for conformity with:
If submission agrees with above criteria, editor will ensure compliance with ethical rules and will verify overall research quality.
Based on initial screening one of the following decisions could be reached:
Peer review process may be lengthy (up to 2 month) and is unique to each submission. Two reviewers are assigned to each submission, who are selected from internal database, editorial board members or through web-search to find new relevant and qualified scientists/researchers. Publication uses double anonymized peer review process, therefore, all information about authors and reviewers is confidential and is not available to each other. Authors are not able to recommend reviewers for their own work.
As result of this stage reviewer could make one of the following decisions:
Above recommendations are anonymously communicated to Authors and are reviewed by the editor prior to reaching final decision on article publishing. If editor suspects any reviewer bias or non-conformity with ethical norms, he/she can appoint a different or additional reviewer. The same procedure could be used if reports from each reviewer are significantly different.
Authors must address all comments and recommendations received from the reviewers within 20 days of receipt of the notification for minor revisions and within 45 days for major revisions. Revision process might comprise multiple rounds until editor is satisfied with all edits and is able to reach his/her decision to accept article for publishing.
Also, the work can be rechecked for conformity with Publication ethical guidelines. Typically, this additional step is included in case of major changes to the manuscript.
After completion of all procedures listed above, editorial office will issue letters stating one of the following decisions:
Please note that manuscript could be rejected based on the negative reviews. We recommend you carefully consider all reviewer comments and recommendations to identify gaps in your research or any other shortcomings and determine further actions.
After successful completion of peer reviews your research will go through final editorial updates, such as formatting, spelling, to ensure content is grammatically correct and clear.
