Electronic scientific and practical journal

After article was published, it is assigned “record version”. Any post-publication corrections depend on the nature and severity of the issues and require valid reason. Following rules describe all possible mechanism used to make updates to or retraction of the published article.

Correction

Mistakes could happen at any stage in the process. Autor may request corrections if:

  • those correctios do not change conclusions reached in the research;
  • existing mistakes impact the meaning of the text of an article;
  • proposed corrections are not in violation of ethical guidelines.

Author will notify editor when correction is processed and will be reflected in online version of the article on Publication website in following forms:

  • Addendum. When significant information was inadvertently removed by the author from the submitted work;
  • Corrigendum. For correcting mistakes that are author’s fault.

If error was introduced by editorial office during publication process, please notify us and we will investigate the need to make corrections to published work. Please e-mail us at support@smart-scm.org and specify following:

  • Type of correction (for example, “Corrigendum: [Title of your Article]”);
  • Reasons for correction (for example, “correction to the text”);
  • Nature of intended correction.

Author Name Change

Author may submit a “name change request” to have their name used in the published article changed due to valid reasons (marriage, religious, gender change). We will make necessary update without publishing notification of correction and will not notify co-authors about such changes. Author may notify co-authors at his/her own discretion.

Retraction

According to COPE Guidelines, “retraction is a mechanism for correcting the literature and alerting readers to articles that contain such seriously flawed or erroneous content or data that their findings and conclusions cannot be relied upon”.

We are considering the following reasons for possible article withdrawal:

  • Presence of clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of major error (eg, miscalculation or experimental error), or as a result of fabrication or falsification;
  • Presence of plagiarism;
  • The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper attribution to previous sources or disclosure to the editor, permission to republish, or justification (ie, cases of redundant publication);
  • It contains material or data without authorization for use;
  • Copyright has been infringed or there is some other serious legal issue (eg, libel, privacy);
  • It reports unethical research;
  • It has been published solely on the basis of a compromised or manipulated peer review process;
  • The author(s) failed to disclose a major competing interest (a.k.a. conflict of interest) that, in the view of the editor, would have unduly affected interpretations of the work or recommendations by editors and peer reviewers.

Potential retractions are carefully investigated by editorial office prior to making final decision. If necessary, editorial office will consult with institutions where authors are employed.

Notice of retraction for each retracted article will be displayed on Publication public website.

Readers may report to editorial office any articles that may needs to be retracted by emailing to support@smart-scm.org and provide sufficient evidence.
